MUMBAI: Ogilvy & Mather India and South Asia COO S N Rane has been appointed as co-executive chairman of O&M India.

Also, Kinectic South Asia managing director and Ogilvy Activation president Pratap Bose has been named the new CEO of O&M India. Bose will be stepping into John Goodman's shoes who is moving to head O&M Japan in June.

O&M India executive chairman and national creative director Piyush Pandey said, "In his two decades at Ogilvy, Rane has been passionately associated with every aspect of the company’s business and has been a major contributor to making Ogilvy the leading communications agency in the country today. He will continue to play the COO’s role for India and South Asia."
O&M Asia Pacific chairman Miles Young added, "In a rapidly growing economic environment and highly competitive business situation, the need was felt to share some of the responsibilities of the high pressured office of the executive chairman. Rane is the obvious choice."

Bose joined Ogilvy in 1993 and set up Oglivy Landscapes, (the outdoor advertising division) which is today a $50 million unit. He then went on to head Activation – the merged out of home businesses, which also included Live, Outreach and Signscapes.

Earlier this year, Bose was appointed Kinetic (South Asia) managing director in addition to his existing roles. Kinetic is WPP’s new OOH company.

Young added, "Pratap Bose is one of the new generation of India leaders. He embodies the best of our fine traditions as a business in India with a global, refreshing, innovative and pragmatic approach. I believe he will delight our clients, our staff and his colleagues around the network; and as India stands on the cusp of supercharged take-off as a communications market I can think of no one better to guide and nurture our brand."

Goodman has been in his role in India and South Asia for over two years, following a six year stint as President of OgilvyOne Asia Pacific. Pandey said, "John has been a fantastic partner and we are all going to miss him. But on the other hand, I am happy that he will be now leading Japan, a critical market for O&M, Asia Pacific.”
