BCCI appoints GoAir official carrier for India-England ODIs

BANGALORE: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that The Wadia Group promoted GoAir will be the official carrier for the upcoming India-England one-day international cricket (ODI) series.

The airline will carry both teams to the matches to be played in Delhi, Goa, Cochin, Guwahati, Ranchi, Indore, and Mumbai from 1 April to 16 April.

The airline will offer special rates to journalists traveling with the teams, informs an official release.

GoAir managing director Jeh Wadia says, "GoAir's selection as the official carrier to the Indian and English teams for the ODI Series is testimony to the fact that we have remained committed to delivering high quality service to our passengers across the sectors we operate in. This deal also underlines the fact that the BCCI has complete faith and trust in our ability to meet the needs of the two teams in so much as ensuring that they have the most comfortable flights to the various venues."

"The BCCI has always taken great care to ensure the comfort and well being of all visiting teams as well as our own. GoAir not only has all the necessary elements to ensure this, but will also operate special
flights to the 7 cities where the ODI's will be played, thereby saving
players' time and energy. We are confident that both teams and the
supporting officials and journalists will enjoy safe and comfortable
transportation through this series," BCCI vice-president Lalit Modi adds.
