The Banff World Television Festival to take place in Canada has announced that
NBC Universal Canada will sponsor a special Canadian culture and entertainment
honour to be named the “NBC Universal Canada Award of Distinction” This annual
tribute will be decided upon by a committee of peers and will recognise an individual
that best exemplifies achievement or advancement in the Canadian entertainment
industry. The Banff World Television Festival will take place from 11 to14 June,
2006.
Expanding its commitment
to the Banff World Television Festival, NBC Universal Canada has also signed-on
to partner with Banff for the next five consecutive years. The five-year agreement
greatly strengthens NBC Universal Canada’s role with Banff and its overall allegiance
to Canada’s television business and culture. Banff CEO Robert Montgomery
says, “The “NBC Universal Canada Award of Distinction” is testament to the company’s
enduring support of Banff’s worldwide programme, as well as to the Canadian industry.
Its five-year commitment to the Banff World Television Festival is a significant
