on his re-election, Rajan said, "Following the successful conduct
of the seminar on Rural Insurance held at Hyderabad, the Association
plans to have a series of industry focused seminars. The next one
will be Rural Banking to be held in September in Mumbai followed
by Rural IT, Rural Telecommunication etc."
Other
plans of the Association include an industry study to find out the
importance given to rural marketing efforts by the corporate sector;
offering courses in rural marketing to management institutes. The
Association successfully conducted a course in S P Jain Institute
of Management, Mumbai recently in which the Association provided

On
the anvil from RMAAI is a quarterly journal on rural marketing,
which will provide information on all aspects of rural marketing
through news clips, case studies, interviews with stalwarts, feature
articles etc. The first issue is expected to be released next month.
Another
ambitious project of the Association is to conduct a 'Rural Marketing
Works' seminar based on a contest on rural marketing case studies.
This is scheduled to be held in September.
