Sara Lee Branded Apparel names Hall as chief marketing officer

MUMBAI: Sara Lee Branded Apparel has appointed Kevin D. Hall to the new position of executive vice president and chief marketing officer, effective immediately.

Hall will be responsible for Sara Lee Branded Apparel's US consumer marketing activities for its Hanes, Champion, Playtex, Bali, L'eggs, Just My Size, barely there and Wonderbra brands. He will report to Sara Lee Branded Apparel CEO Richard A. Noll.

"Kevin's work with best-in-class consumer products coupled with his global and regional brand management experience makes him an ideal match for this position and a great complement to our management team," said Noll.

Hall joins Sara Lee Branded Apparel from Fidelity Investments Retirement Services Company in Boston, where he was senior vice president of marketing. Prior to Fidelity, he worked at Procter & Gamble for 16 years and was responsible for brands such as Pantene, Old Spice, Secret, Pert Plus and Vidal Sassoon.

While at P&G, Hall served as marketing director, North America hair care for Pantene and helped develop the strategy and marketing plans to grow Pantene into the No. 1 brand in the US hair care category.

Prior to this, he was responsible for developing and then leading the strategy and plans for globalizing P&G's deodorant business, developing successful lead markets for Secret and Old Spice in Latin America, Europe and Eastern Europe. From 1997 to 2001, he served as worldwide general manager of the company's Vidal Sassoon business, with responsibility for managing business teams around the world, including the launch of Vidal Sassoon products and a stylist teaching academy into mainland China.

Sara Lee Branded Apparel's success in designing, manufacturing, sourcing and selling a broad range of apparel essentials including T-shirts, bras, panties, men's underwear, kids' underwear, socks, hosiery, casual wear and active wear generated $4.7 billion in net sales in fiscal 2005.
