MUMBAI: Brad Globe has officially taken over the reins of Warner Bros. Consumer Products as its president.

In this post, Globe will oversee all Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ business functions, including domestic and international licensing, worldwide marketing, business and legal affairs, finance and retail business development.

Globe joined Warner Bros. Consumer Products in February 2005 as executive VP and GM. He replaces Dan Romanelli, founder and former president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Globe says, “It’s really an unbelievable portfolio to represent, a bit like being a kid in a candy store stocked with the best intellectual properties in the business. One of the chief reasons that I came to Warner Bros., was because of the great library of more than 850 characters, including Looney Tunes, Harry Potter, Scooby-Doo, DC Comics’ Superman and Batman, the unmatched film and television archive and the company’s global presence. It’s an entertainment vault that speaks to every conceivable consumer demographic.”

“Although content is king and the bread-and-butter is still found in supporting the incredible films and television shows that a great studio like Warner Bros. produces, today’s competitive retail environment demands that we aggressively pursue opportunities outside of the conventional business model. Technology, consumers and, by relation, retailers are quickly evolving and our single-most important goal is to tap Warner’s rich library and deliver the uniqueness that sets us, and our retail and licensing partners, apart from all others.

“I’ve enjoyed getting to know the people and properties of Warner Bros. over these initial months. We’re having fun, working hard and moving towards changing the face of the licensing business—both here at Warner Bros. and the industry as a whole,” says Globe.
