Omnicom to acquire majority stake in India's Gotocustomer

MUMBAI: Omnicom Group Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire, through its Diversified Agency Services (DAS) group, a majority ownership interest in Gotocustomer Services India.

Gotocustomer is a provider of field and retail marketing services to both national and multinational clients across India. The company offers specialised services in the areas of field marketing, retail marketing and promotional events.

Clients utilising Gotocustomer's services include those in information technology, telecommunications and consumer packaged goods. Its key clients include Microsoft, Pepsi, Philips, Intel and Idea Cellular. The company has eight offices across India, with direct presence in more than 30 cities.

Omnicom vice chairman and Omnicom Asia Pacific chairman and CEO Michael Birkin said, "I am delighted to be partnering with Gotocustomer. Field marketing is a key business for Omnicom globally. This relationship will enable us to provide our national and international clients in India the same best-in-class field marketing services that we offer on a global basis.
