MUMBAI: HSBC has sponsored a series of vignettes on BBC World featuring high profile golfers giving golfing tips.

The Golf Range vignettes were commissioned by BBC World, the BBC's international 24-hour news and information channel.

The sponsorship further strengthens HSBC's global television advertising campaign - Swings - and supports the bank's position as a worldwide sponsor of golf.

In the vignettes, professional UK golfer Nick Dougherty and other golfing professionals, Kathy Hart Wood (Hamilton Farm Golf, New York), Jason MacNivan (Wentworth Club, UK) and Kingsley Long (Shanghai Sheshan International Golf Club, China), demonstrate the best ways to stand, chip and run, grip, putt and drive.

Shot in several locations including Hamilton Farm Golf and Wentworth Clubs, the vignettes will help golfers of all levels who want to improve their game.

BBC World UK sales director Alan Fagan says, "BBC World is delighted to have secured the talents of high profile golfers such as Nick Dougherty for these vignettes. The sponsorship demonstrates the channel's ability to offer innovative, bespoke solutions to its clients and BBC World is delighted to have HSBC as sponsor of this series."

HSBC head of sports marketing and sponsorship Giles Morgan said, "Our sponsorship of this series of vignettes perfectly demonstrates HSBC's commitment to supporting golf's top professionals as well as helping to develop its next generation of stars. BBC World's ability to broadcast around the world will further strengthen HSBC's position as a worldwide sponsor of golf."

Other vignettes produced by BBC World include the World Challenge series sponsored by Shell, Delivering Success sponsored by UPS, World Cup sponsored by Emirates and 24: Seven sponsored by Motorola.
