BCCI announces tenders for team formal wear, event management

MUMBAI: The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the release of three new tenders following the marketing sub committee meeting held in Delhi last week.

The three tenders are for the appointment of
1. The Official Provider Formal Wear and Accessories for the Indian Team (from September 2006 to August 2010)
2. The Event Management Partner to produce and execute the BCCI Ratings and Awards (from September 2006 to August 2011), and
3. The Partner to market and sell Ground Rights at all Overseas Neutral Venue Matches (from September 2006 to March 2011).

The tenders will be available to from 10 30 am on 3 August 2006 at the BCCI offices at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The last date of submission of all three tenders is 11 August 2006 at the same venue. The bids will be opened and the winners announced at the BCCI marketing sub committee meeting in Chennai on 14 August 2006.

A decision on the partners for the BCCI's site will also be taken on 14 August. The two competing parties in the fray are The Cricket Network (TCN) in partnership with Sun and Wipro and the second party of Microsoft and TCS. Both parties will submit their respective final financial schedules for the Web Portal on 14 August 2006.

The selection will be undertaken by Accenture, recently appointed by BCCI as the nodal agency for advise and consultation on the final selection of the body's Web Portal in an objective manner. The selection will be undertaken under supervision and guidance of the BCCI marketing sub committee partner.

For this year, the BCCI has also announced that a Tri Series of seven One Day International's (ODI's) between India, Australia and West Indies will be played in September in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur as part of the newly formatted Neutral Venue Schedule. India will play two matches against Australia and two against West Indies and the finals will follow this.

Singapore will host the first three-day ODI's while Kuala Lumpur will host the following four ODI's. Cricket Australia will be managing and consolidating all ground handling for the series.
