MUMBAI: The 10th Ispo Sport Sponsoring Conference takes place in Munich, Germany from 30-31 January 2006.

Total Sports Asia CEO Marcus Luer will make a presentation. There will be a discussion on Asia: The continent of the rising sponsorship-sun.

Not surprisingly China will be another topic. The country hosts the Olympics in 2008 and one session looks at how a company can use that opportunity. Then there is the session Promotion and sales in China. This will give participants an idea of how to work within China's legal framework. It looks at legal opportunities of business, marketing and sales.

Another session looks at HDTV-chances and risks for the sports business branch. Industry experts believe that a revolution of sports television will take place due to HDTV. Sponsorships will be affected by this development. The visibility of advertising material could be influenced and changed by the obligatory 16:9-format and extremely high resolution screens.

One forum will deal with Fifa World Cup 2006 – the Countdown. This will give attendees an idea of how they can leverage this important event to push their brands. While the Fifa World Cup is one of the worlds biggest marketing-platforms of sports business it is still criticised consistently. At the event Fifa will refute all allegations and refer to the great sponsorship-demand and to their new marketing-concept effective from 2007.

Fifa representatives Gregor Lentze and Stefan Schuster will introduce the current as well as the new concept to the audience and also discuss the concepts with important sponsors and critics.

Another session looks at Added value profit by 'new media'.

Logo-download, Online-community or Mobile-TV? The new media opportunities are almost unlimited. But what do fans really want? Which strategies assure more profit for the clubs and how does it work? The convergence of the media assigns new tasks to the suppliers and enquirers of sports rights. This session will seek to provide answers.
