MUMBAI: Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) has announced the designers participating at International Fashion Weeks like Mercedes Benz fashion Week at Smashbox Studios, Los Angeles, Singapore Fashion Festival and Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, Sydney.

This initiative is in sync with LFW's aim to integrate India into the global fashion world by providing opportunities to the Indian designers to showcase their talent abroad.

Designers Surily Goel, Nandita Mahtani and Narendra Kumar will be showcasing at the Mercedes Benz fashion Week at Smashbox Studios, Los Angeles from 15-19 March 2007, Dev and Nil and Rahul & Firdos will be showcasing at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week from 30 April to 4 May 2007 and designers Saviojon, Rocky S and Anshu Arora will be showcasing at Singapore Fashion Festival from 23 March to 1 April 2007.

Lakme Lever VP Anil Chopra says, "Lakme Fashion Week has created history and has set up milestones in formalizing the business of fashion and we are pleased to have taken a huge step ahead in the right direction. Our current initiatives, with more to come, prove that Lakme Fashion Week has indeed become a platform that not only showcases Indian talent before an international audience, but is also providing multiple opportunities to globalize Indian fashion. The creations of the designers announced represent creatively different and truly showcase two ends of the fashion spectrum".

The designer duo, Dev & Nil said, "Being selected after our second season with LFW is an amazing feeling. It's a privilege to showcase our collection at Sydney is among the big league. We are now concentrating all our energies in preparing the Spring Summer 2007-08 collection for Sydney along with Autumn Winter 2007 at LFW."

Rahul and Firdos said, "We are delighted to be selected for the Rosemount Australian fashion week. It's a great opportunity to showcase at an international fashion week. This is the beginning to create recognition for our innovations and represent our country on the global map. We have to work towards winning the hearts of people world over". LFW 2006 had launched designers Rahul Mishra and Samar Firdos through the Gennext category.
