MUMBAI: After a 11-year tenure, IMG/TWI South Asia MD and senior VP Ravi Krishnan is moving on to join a multinational real estate group as its India head.

The group, primarily based in Australia and Israel, is establishing a dedicated India specific multi-million dollar fund. The group is setting up an India-focused fund that will initially commit $100 million for investment in the real estate sector.

Krishnan will, however, continue his involvement with IMG as an advisor for sports, fashion and entertainment. Krishnan postponed his planned move to April 2006 to manage the Lakme Fashion Week which completed a successful debut recently, says an official communiqué from the sports and events marketing major.

Krishnan was quoted in the release as saying, "It has been a privilege to lead a great company and a tremendous group of people and to play a role in the growth of an industry in India. I am excited about my continued involvement with IMG in an advisory role. It was a great challenge to grow the business in an exciting and key sector in India's growing economy. I look forward to a similar effort in the equally challenging and emerging area of real-estate."

"Ravi's passionate leadership, his tireless pursuit of excellence, commitment and dedication as well as his deep knowledge of all aspects of the business has been extremely helpful for IMG. We're pleased he'll remain with us in a consulting role and utilize his unique expertise to contribute to the company's leadership position within the industry," says IMG India senior corporate director Andrew Wildblood.
