BANGALORE: Pizza Hut has introduced a new product-'Freshizza', a new pizza crust with a blend of freshness and taste, in Bangalore. The launch was marked by the presence of Kannada screen idol Puneet Rajkumar.

'Freshizza' will be promoted through an exciting communications campaign across a media mix of satellite television, print and radio. A specially created TVC depicting the freshness of the product will be on air soon. 'Freshizza' leaflets showcasing the range on offer will be available across all Pizza Hut outlets.

Moreover, all delivery boys will wear exciting new rider uniforms with the FRESHIZZA logo to create visibility on roads and on ground awareness. Like all other Pizza Hut pizzas, 'Freshizza' too will be delivered in special heated pouches to retain temperature and freshness, states an official release.

JWT handles the Pizza Hut creative, while Mindshare handles the media account. The ad budget amounts to approximately Rs. 120 million. About 60 to 70 per cent of this is spent on TVC's, according to Yum! Restaurants International (the owners of the Pizza hut brand) marketing director Indian subcontinent Pankaj Batra.

The company's press release says that 'Freshizza' is the result of months of pioneering effort by the Indian and International R&D team of Pizza Hut. The new crust is neither too thick nor too thin and is made from specially made dough in the Pizza Hut restaurants. The crust has a soft texture and uses a uniquely flavored tomato sauce, Mozzarella cheese, combined with a range of Pizza Hut toppings and garnished with orange Cheddar cheese.

The prices start at Rs. 95/- onwards, 'Freshizza' is available in medium size (for 2) as well as family size (serves 4).

Pizza Hut is present in 25 cities across 98 outlets, including 26 in South India. The company will be entering the second tier cities such as Mysore along with additional outlets in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore where they are already present.
