Max appoints Sanjay Ramakrishnan as marketing head

MUMBAI: Max, the movies and special events channel from Sony Entertainment Television, has appointed Sanjay Ramakrishnan as its marketing and communications vice president. Ramakrishnan will report to Max EVP and business head Albert Almeida.

 
 

Says Almeida, "It's exciting times ahead for Max with loads of action on the movies and cricket front and Sanjay's outstanding abilities, which he has successfully established over the years will be a key asset to Max. Sanjay has experience and knowledge in consumer marketing, sales and distribution, business development and public relations having worked across a diverse set of media businesses. He is well armed to bring all these skills to bear in this challenging and ever changing environment."

 
 

Commenting on his appointment at Max, Ramakrishnan says, "I am looking forward to this new role and the task of building and strengthening the brand's equity, appeal and reach."

The head of marketing and communications position at Max was lying vacant for over a year. The position was last held by Tushar Shah who moved to Disney as marketing head.

 
 

Ramakrishnan has worked with leading media firms of the country including Lycos Asia Internet Pvt. Ltd and Times of India Group. He last held the position of head - marketing at Worldspace India overseeing its successful marketing initiatives over the last one year. Sanjay has also worked with Spice Telecom, Satyam Infoway and SmithKline Beecham.
