Edelman and India's R&PMC form joint venture

MUMBAI: Global PR firm Edelman and the Indian reputation management company R&P Management Communications Pvt. Ltd. (R&PMC) has announced a 50/50 joint venture partnership which incorporates the assets of R&PMC to serve the growing reputation and relationship management needs of Indian companies going global and global companies in India.
 
 
R&PMC founder and CEO Roger C. B. Pereira will lead the joint venture, informs an official release.

The JV company, which over time will take on the name R&PMC:Edelman, will be headquartered in Mumbai, with wholly-owned offices in Delhi and Bangalore. The JV is represented in all major metros in India.

 
 
Edelman and R&PMC have worked together on several major client engagements before forming the JV. R&PMC has been an affiliate of Edelman since 2002. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, adds the release.

The JV is a strategic move that expands Edelman's global footprint and gives R&PMC access to a leading global network with synergies in best practices, best people, thought leadership and clients.

 
 
"With Indian foreign direct investments at an all-time high and Indian companies expanding overseas at record pace, India is a key growth market for Edelman," said Edelman president and CEO Richard Edelman. "With R&PMC we immediately become a leader in India, with the ability not only to support our global clients locally, but also to address the challenges facing Indian companies and global companies, especially on issues related to outsourcing, intellectual property rights, CSR and fair trade," he said.

"We firmly believe our new company will add substantial strength to Edelman's existing management team in the region," said Hong Kong-based President of Edelman Asia-Pacific, Alan VanderMolen. "At the same time, the joint venture will provide clients with tremendous stakeholder insights and give them access in India to Edelman's leading stakeholder strategies and measurement tools," he added.
