MUMBAI: Anil George, former MPG VP South, Bangalore has been appointed general manager of Maxus, Bangalore.

George, who quit MPG four days ago, would be taking charge of his new duties in mid-January 2005 and will be taking over from Ruby Bana, the current GM in Bangalore.

George would report to Maxus India MD CVL Srinivas. The appointment comes in the wake of Ruby Bana opting to move out of her current responsibility of GM and explore other options within the group.

Commenting on the appointment, Maxus India MD CVL Srinivas said, "We are delighted to have Anil join team Maxus. His experience will help further strengthen the Maxus brand. Ruby has done a great job raising the profile of our Bangalore branch, we now look towards Anil to help consolidate our presence."

George, an IIM Bangalore alumnus, started his career with the UB group and has had stints in Lintas and Initiative. For the last one year he has been with MPG in Bangalore, where he was VP South handling Intel and LG Care.

MPG is yet to find a replacement for George.
