Pepsi launches 'Join the huddle' contest

MUMBAI: With the cricket fever, whipping up some excitement with the second One-Day International (ODI) match between India and Australia coming up, Pepsi has launched an innovative consumer campaign.
 
 
Winners of the Pepsi contest "Join the Huddle" will get an opportunity to meet and greet Indian cricketers Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif. The contest is centered on the tri-nation ODI series involving India, Australia and New Zealand, to be held in India and the match with Australia begins in a day-night match in Mumbai on 1 November.

According to the company release, consumers are required to come up with a brilliant slogan/caption to the famous photograph of Pepsi's Men in Blue in a huddle in the middle of the cricket ground. The complete entries will have to be drop in the collection boxes place in the locations. The contest forms are available at nearly 15 key Pepsi outlets across the city.

Pepsi has also launched phone-in consumer promotion in association with a FM radio channel, the winners of which will also get to meet and greet the two cricket stars. Besides, the contest is also being widely advertised in a leading newspaper. The contest will pick up around 30 entries with the best captions. Besides the lucky 30, who get to greet and meet Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif at a city hotel on 31 October, a few others stand a chance of winning complementary passes to the India-Australia match.

Says Pepsi Head of operations (Western region) Satendra Agarwal, "Pepsi has been a pioneer in bringing fans closer to celebrities. Pepsi's 'Join the Huddle' contest is yet another opportunity for fans in Mumbai to meet their favourite cricketers."
