NEW DELHI: The Media Edge (TME) has bagged the media
planning and buying account of Barista Coffee Co. The development,
which took place last week, has been confirmed by TME president Divya
Gupta.
The account was previously with MediaCom. The account
will be serviced by TME’s Mumbai office. “We had been in dialogue
with the client for some time. The client had approached us and we
presented our inputs accordingly. It’s too early to comment on anything
as we have just won the account,” said Gupta.
The new account for TME, which has worked on the recently launched
Titan Industries international watch collection symbolically `The
New World Watch’ campaign, follows its earlier acquisitions like Deys
Medical’s Keo Karpin range, SKF Bearings, Apollo Tyres Nycil and Farex
from Heinz this year. Besides this, TME had also consolidated its
relationship with the Tata Group by bagging three buying assignments
from Tata group companies (Tata Teleservices, VSNL and Tata Engineering).
“This is a manifestation of what we have been doing for the last three
or four years. The last couple of years have been good for us and
we would be among the fastest growing agencies and that, too, not
on the basis of a small base. We have been working on media solutions,
which are value-added and efficient. So these developments (consistent
wins) are realization and acknowledgement of our functioning,” said
Gupta.
