MUMBAI: Seems like Channel [V] is taking the cricket fever head on. The Star music channel will be promoting football in the time when the entire country is crazy about cricket. The channel, along with Castrol 'Power 1', has launched a Panga for Beckham contest.

The newest vignette based interstitial [V] panga is organising the contest, which requires participants to mail (snail mail, e-mail whatever!) the biggest, meanest, ultimate Panga (read 'dare') they are willing to take. The [V] panga host VJ Yudi along with his bunch of cronies will travel to Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad and Delhi and dare select participants to perform some nerve-jangling Pangas.

The lucky few shortlisted contestants will win a chance to meet international football superstar - David Beckham. The prize deal includes not just a customary dinner but also a five-day all expense trip to UK and free football tutorials by the football icon David Beckham himself.
