NEW YORK: News Corporation has announced the reorganisation of
its integrated advertising and corporate marketing operations. Formerly
comprising the company’s News Corp One division, these operations
will be divided into their marketing and advertising components
and more closely integrated into the operations of the company,
according to an announcement made by News Corporation deputy COO
Lachlan Murdoch.
Effective on an immediate basis, the company’s integrated advertising
operations will become the Integrated Media arm of the Fox Entertainment
Group. The division head will report jointly to Fox Networks group
president and CEO Tony Vinciquerra and Fox Broadcasting company
president of sales Jon Nesvig. The company’s corporate marketing
operations will report to News Corp’s executive VP for content Anthea
Disney who oversees the company’s multi-divisional partnerships
and strategic alliances worldwide.
Meanwhile, a Reuters report indicates that News Corp is poised
for a 35 per cent jump in quarterly earnings, driven by stronger
television advertising and a healthy performance by its Fox film
division. Analysts expect News Corp to raise its full-year earnings
targets by around $100 million to close to $2 billion. The company
will announce its second quarter earnings on 12 February.
