The winner will get an opportunity to take his/her entry to the
Cannes Lions Festival and get his/her work shown on national and
regional TV channels with a credit by-line. An official release
informs that the contest is open to all - an advertising agency,
a creative director, a filmmaker, an NGO. A panel comprising prominent
filmmakers, advertising and media personalities will judge the entries.
The last date for receiving the commercial is 15 January 2004.
Eco India aims at harnessing the power and reach of the mass media
to promote environmental awareness. It aims to draw committed citizens
from the media and entertainment industry to produce and broadcast
public service announcements that provoke and convince. This includes
India's top broadcasters, filmmakers, advertising fraternity to
contribute time, talent and resources.
The company has so far produced and broadcast four radio spots
on the theme of conserve water in association with Radio Mirchi.
It also came out with a public service announcement in association
with Mike Pandey, which dealt with the noise pollution caused by
Diwali crackers and was broadcast on many channels.
The company's board members include Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea,
Reliance Entertainment CEO Amit Khanna, TV Today CEO G. Krishnan,
Madison's Sam Balsara, Rajiv Agarwal and Percept Advertising's Rajesh
Pant.
