CONNECTICUT (US): World Wrestling Entertainment has extended its
TV representation partnership with Total Sports Asia (TSA) to include
consumer product licensing, Home Video/DVD, publications and sponsorships
across Asia.
WWE and TSA also announced new licensing deals with two leading
telecommunications companies: DiGi Telecommunications in Malaysia
and MobileOne Asia in Singapore. New Home Video licensing agreements
were concluded with JSS Home Video in Japan, and Sendi Mutuara Entertainment
Snd Bhd for Indonesia, Taiwan and Malaysia. In India, the programming
airs on Ten Sports.
WWE Executive VP International Business Development Roger Marment
said, "Our expansion in Asia is seeing tremendous growth as a result
of our successful Asian SmackDown! Tour and the strength of our
television programming in the region, Extending our business relationship
with Total Sports Asia builds on the successful work that they have
done for us in the region.
WWE already has a significant presence in this region through our
programming and live events. We expect that these new licensing
agreements will further develop our international business in a
way that replicates the successful model that we have developed
domestically."
Total Sports Asia claims to be Asia's leading independent sports
marketing company and WWE's exclusive representative in Asia, with
headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
