FLORIDA
(US): ESPN International has been named the exclusive worldwide
advertising sales representative for the Disney-owned Fox Kids Latin
America.
The announcement was made by senior VP business operations, Walt
Disney Television International-Latin America Luis Perez, and VP
worldwide advertising sales, ESPN International Michael Fox. The
day-to-day operations of the sales effort will be managed by director,
international advertising sales, ESPN, Rita Ferro.
In
addition to Fox Kids Latin America, ESPN International’s ad sales
team also represents four ESPN-branded television networks in the
region, including ESPN Latin America, ESPN2, ESPN Brasil, and ESPN+,
as well as ESPNdeportes.com, the company’s Spanish-language website.
ESPN International is also the exclusive Latin American ad sales
representative outside of Brazil for six Globosat channels, including
SporTV and Telecine.
Fox
Kids Latin America, launched in November 1996, is a 24 hour kids
channel in Spanish and Portuguese that reaches nearly 12.5 million
homes in 19 countries in Latin America via cable and satellite TV.
Fox Kids Latin America was acquired by The Walt Disney Company last
year and offers the top live-action and animated programming for
kids, including the genres of mystery, comedy, action and adventure.
The pan-regional channel presents exclusive series including programmes
like Digimon, Power Rangers and Spiderman.
The channel also has two websites, www.foxkidstv.com (in Spanish)
and www.foxkids.com.br (in Portuguese).
