BANGALORE: BPL Mobile, a premier mobile phone service provider, is launching a SMS chain messaging game during the New Year for their existing large subscriber base. The game, organised with the approval of LIMCA Book of Records, will ensure an entry to the Limca Book of Records-2004 for the longest chain message under the category of chain messaging.

The essence of this game is to encourage individuals to create the longest chain message by creating their own groups and sending greetings. The idea to create the longest chain message via SMS brings the BPL mobile subscribers on a common platform incorporating elements of fun, excitement, bonding and keeping in touch through SMS.

The group of subscribers creating the longest chain message is entitled for an entry to the Limca Book of Records 2004 edition under the chain messaging category .

"Happy New Year 2003" is the single greeting message to be appended in the message by the subscribers and sent to the large BPL Mobile fraternity of over one million subscribers across the four networks - Mumbai , Maharashtra & Goa , Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The group name coined should not exceed more than four letters. A subscriber is entitled to forward the message to a maximum of two subscribers at a time and the recipient in turn can forward it accordingly on similar norms. Regular SMS rates will apply while forwarding the message. However, charges will apply only for one SMS although it will be sent to two numbers.

The steps to initiate the game and carry it according to the terms are well defined. The first step is to create a group with a key word and a four-letter name; Cre, for example Cre and send to 333. Once the sender has received a confirmation, then that group (AJAY for eg.) can forward the message "Happy New Year 2003" to their friends by typing FWD AJAY Mobile Number 1 Mobile Number 2 and send it to 333.

For example, what the subscriber is supposed to do is to type 'FWD AJAY<9845072831> <9845066932>, which is then sent to 333.The message can be forwarded to any BPL Mobile subscriber in BPL Mobile circles - Mumbai , Maharashtra and Goa , Tamil Nadu and Kerala, to create the longest chain message in an attempt for a possible entry into the Limca Book of Records.

The BPL Mobile SMS game will be kick-started from 28 December and is open till the midnight of 2 January. in the States of Maharashtra (incl. Mumbai), Tamil Nadu, Kerala; Goa; and Pondicherry.

BPL Mobile's association with the prestigious Limca Book of Records is aimed to create fun and enthusiasm among the BPL Mobile subscribers. The onus is now on the subscribers to participate and make it a grand success.
