MUMBAI: Disney is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to push
its band across channels. With competition looming large, it is
pulling all gags to keep its young loyal fans happy . The latest
is the Disney Hour Christmas Countdown contest which kicked
off last week.
Also, Disney Hour which runs on Sony Entertainment Television
at 6 pm daily, recently premiered a new half-hour series- Disney's
Recess that takes a peek into the adventures of school kids
during recess time. The special hour also features the space jaunts
of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, the evergreen hero
of the popular Toy Story franchise. Other Disney programs on Sony
include the Good morning Disney show, and Honey I shrunk
the Kids - Disney's first ever live-action TV series in India.
On the other channels, Disney showcases Disney Funtime on
DD Metro, Disney Ulagam on Sun TV and Disney Sandhya on
Eenadu.
In addition, a grand 'Disney Christmas Party' is being organised
to celebrate the season. The party will be held at Big Bazaar, Phoenix
Mills Compound in Lower Parel, Mumbai at 4:30 pm on Wednesday. Kids
will be treated to music, food and drinks, dance competitions, a
show jump trampoline contest, fun and games, a meet and greet with
Santa Clause, and a photo op Corner where kids can get pictures
clicked with popular Disney Hour character cutouts and other fun
things, states a release.
To get an invite the kids need to purchase Disney merchandise from
any of the Disney stations at Pantaloon in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune,
Kolkata, Kanpur, Nagpur, Chennai and Hyderabad or the Big Bazaar
Kids' sections at Mumbai and Bangalore. The 'lucky few' kids will
get free invites to the Disney Christmas party.
Organized by Buena Vista Television India, the other partners on
the event are Britannia Treat biscuits and Perfetti Marbels.
