MUMBAI: Take a load of this as far as studies go. CNN's viewers
earned $51.6 billion in 2002, the latest Pan Asian Cross Media Survey
(PAX 2002), reveals. The new results also confirm CNN as the news
leader in Asia for the sixth successive year.
PAX 2002, conducted by Asia Market Intelligence (AMI), shows that
CNN delivers the highest quantity and quality of news viewing in
Asia. The newly released findings prove that CNN is the leading
channel for the key top management target group, reaching 60 per
cent of Asia's affluent top management every month, a CNN release
says.
When it comes to frequent business travellers, PAX 2002 also confirms
that CNN is the clear leader over all other cable and satellite
channels. Collectively, CNN viewers make 2.3 million international
business trips a year, the highest of any cable and satellite channel.
PAX 2002 is a syndicated cross-media survey, providing measurement
of TV and print across major markets in Asia including: Bangkok,
Hong Kong, India, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Singapore
and Taipei. The survey first started in 1997 and is conducted annually
by Asia Market Intelligence (AMI). The fieldwork for 2002 was carried
out between July and September 2002 across a universe of business
decision-makers, top management and affluent adults aged between
25 and 64 in the surveyed markets.
