MUMBAI: To coincide with summer vacations, Amrita TV has planned a mix of programmes and events targeting youth and kids.

Super Star Holiday Special has been launched as a prime time weekday programme at 7 pm,which brings together the finalists of reality shows, Super Star Junior and Super Dancer Junior and creates a collage of reminiscences, performances and updates from the super star kids about their current projects.

The month of May will also see the holding of a mega audition event for Let's Dance, which is a new dance show for couples in the 18-30 age group. Shortlisted contestant-pairs will perform before choreographers like Kalamaster to enter into the coveted final 15 roster of Let's Dance. The show will go on air in early June on prime time on weekdays.

This will be followed by Junior Genius, the reality show for 12-14-year-olds which seeks to nurture a unique blend of IQ, GK, artistic skills, life skills and social skills. The show is being rolled out with the first phase of entrance tests being held in Calicut, Ernakulam and Trivandrum in May. Finally, 15 kids will make it to the show to battle for the crown of Junior Genius.

The carnatic music talent hunt for children, Raga Ratnam Junior, which commenced in October 2007 as a prime time weekend hourly show, will also reach its grand finale in May. The top finalists will sing their way to the hearts of music connoisseurs in a live stage show in the presence of carnatic music gurus who will hand pick the Raga Ratnam Junior.

The channel will also hold the auditions for an adventure show Great India Race. The show has already seen entries from people in the 21- 65 age group. Great India Race involves adventure, travel, discovery, and exploration in a competitive format –and will test the guts, endurance, emotional quotient of pair-partner teams traversing India.
