MUMBAI:
AXN has announced the third edition of the AXN Action Awards
in which it will be
recognising work done by the action heroes of Bollywood.
A
curtain raiser will be aired on 11 May at 8 pm and will be hosted by Neha Dhupia.
The channel notes that with an ever increasing number of releases each year in
Bollywood, the genre of action has consistently evolved matching international
standards and successfully maintaining a mounting and loyal fan base.
AXN India country head Sunder Aaron says, "The AXN Action Awards is back
by popular demand and this time its bigger, better and slicker than ever before!
This year Neha Dhupia with her special brand of sassiness will breathe a sensational
amount of voltage into a show that exemplifies action & adventure! "
Dhupia
says, "I started off as a model and then moved onto the big screen. AXN Action
Awards is my first foray into the small screen and I am extremely excited about
being on AXN which is where I get my daily dose of action, adventure and daredevil
thrills.
"Another
reason for me to be associated with these awards is that there
are no critics… no bias…but it's the fans who vote
in and choose the true winners. I'm looking forward to some
super stunts, fantastic choreography and last but not the
least, meeting the people behind the action."
