Arun Bhatnagar is Prasar Bharati chairman

MUMBAI: Parsar Bharati has appointed retired IAS officer Arun Bhatnagar as chairman. The appointment comes almost two months after the exit of MV Kamath as the chairman of Prasar Bharati.

Bhatnagar will have a tenure of three years. He was earlier the Secretary General of National Advisory Council.

Prior to that he has held positions like Principal Adviser in Planning Commission and Additional Secretary in the Department of Telecom and Minister (Economics) in the Indian High Commission in London.

Recently, the government amended the Prasar Bharati Act to to reduce the Chairman's tenure from six to three years and fixed the age limit to 70 years.
