MUMBAI:
Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has launched its new show
Naye Roop Nayi Zindagi, produced by Miditech, that
is being aired every Thursday at 8 pm.
The
show is an Indian version of Extreme Makeover, a
format owned by the ABC Network in USA.
Hosted by Mona Singh, the one hour show will continue for
ten weeks.
The
reality series aims to give hope to those on the sidelines
of society, who face stigma and loneliness due to some distortion
in their feature on their face or body.
Naye
Roop Nai Zindagi is perhaps the most intensive show we
have ever done. It took over two years to make all the 10
episodes. Each story is not just about the skin deep transformation,
but a completely new change in life. It is a journey equivalent
to getting a new life, said Miditech chief creative
officer Niret Alva.
Naye
Roop Nai Zindagi selected a total of 13 individuals for
the show. The candidates chosen had to undergo facial correction
surgeries - both reconstructive and cosmetic, dental and eye
surgeries combined with fitness, diet and styling.
From
styling to fitness and counseling to dream fulfillment, Naye
Roop Nayi Zindagi has it all. Ordinary people, through
the medium of TV meet extraordinary experts who work with
them to help participants reach their full physical and emotional
potential, added Alva.
