NEW
DELHI: HBO today announced its summer fare which, in addition
to offering latest blockbusters, will also feature the documentary
An Inconvenient Truth, starring Al Gore, in support
of the Earth Day celebrations.
There
is a also special offering featuring the best of animation
movies.
To
honour Earth Day, HBO will showcase the exclusive premiere
of An Inconvenient Truth, an Academy Award-winning
documentary film about Global Warming on 22 April at 9 pm.
Directed
by Davis Guggenheim, this highly-renowned documentary is hosted
by former US Vice President and Nobel Prize recipient Al Gore,
an avid votary for action on climate change.
The
film tellingly describes the impact of climate change on various
societies through Gore's efforts to educate the public about
the severity of the crisis. It tracks his travels across continents
and through some of the worst-affected countries.
HBO's
Blockbuster of the month will have Eddie Murphy in a unique
double role in Norbit, starring him and Thandie Newton.
This
Academy Award nominated movie will premiere on 25 April at
9 pm.
Every
Saturday night at 9 pm there will be a premier on HBO.
Blockbusters
premiering this April on HBO "See It First" will
include Charlotte's Web on 5 April and Failure to
Launch on 12 April.
This
feature is followed by the thriller The Hitcher on
19 April and The Barnyard on 26 April starring Kevin
James, Courtney Cox, Danny Glover and Sam Elliott.
The
animation lineup includes The Ant Bully featuring the
voices of Julia Roberts, Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep, Paul
Giamatti on 6 April followed by Robert Zemeckis and Steven
Spielberg produced Monster House on 13 April.
The
animation trail continues with the Academy Award winning Wallace
& Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit on 20 April;
and the Martin Lawrence, Ashton Kutcher, Gary Sinise and Debra
Messing starrer Open Season on 27 April.
Part
of the fare would also be blockbuster action in HBO Sunday
Super Hits, every Sunday night at 9 pm as the channel brings
a host of highly acclaimed hits.
The
line-up includes a mix of action movies such as Enter The
Dragon on 6 April starring Bruce Lee, John Saxon, Jim
Kelly; and Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone starring
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint on 13 April.
There
will be comedy movies such as Look Who's Talking Now
starring John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Lysette Anthony, Danny
Devito on 20 April, and Jennifer Lopez, Jane Fonda, Michael
Vartan, Wanda Sykes-Hall starrer Monster-In-Law on
27 April.
The
HBO Friday Blockbusters at 9 pm includes a galaxy of favourite
Hollywood blockbusters. The exciting lineup includes the Tom
Hanks starrer suspense thriller, The Da Vinci Code,
which is slated for 4 April, followed by the creepy crawly
action adventure, Snakes On A Plane on 11 April.
