MUMBAI:
Prasar Bharti's national network Doordarshan is launching
a new sitcom series Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu starting
2 April every Wednesday at 9 pm.

Mainframe Entertainment claims that Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu,
which sounds like a run-of-the-mill saas-bahu soap,
will be a comic serial based on real-life situations.
"Our
serial is based on the skirmishes between the saas and the
bahu. Each episode has a different set of situations,"
said director Rajesh Gupta.
"There
will be no elements of unsociable relationships or behaviour,
and neither will there be any element of bitterness or hatred."
The
storyline revolves around three generations of Awasthi family,
whose head Mallu lives with wife Shrimati, son Viru and his
wife Hema, grandson Narendra and his wife Kajal. Hema finds
herself trapped as she is in the unenviable position of being
a bahu and a saas at the same time.
