MUMBAI:
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has called for
the votes from the film industry for nominations across popular
awards category in
Idea IIFA Awards.
Brand
Ambassador for the awards Amitabh Bachchan started the voting
process by casting the first vote. The voting will be open
till 30 March.
This
year, the IIFA weekend is being held from 6 to 8 June in Bangkok.
Sharing
his views on the long-standing association with IIFA, Idea
Cellular MD Sanjeev Aga said, "We are keenly looking
forward to the celebrations at the Idea IIFA Awards in Bangkok
this year. In this day and age of convergence, the Idea IIFA
Awards signal the coming together of two powerful mediums
- television and mobile. The day is not far when the power
of television will be available on the Idea mobile platform."
The
awards ceremony is broadcast on the Star TV network.
The
IIFA Weekend and the Idea IIFA Awards are spearheaded by Wizcraft
International Entertainment.
PriceWaterHouse
Coopers is the official auditors for the event, and the voting
procedure will be closely monitored by them.
