The
Eurosport group has invested in HD as a
key priority for 2008. In a year of major
sporting events on the channel which include
Roland Garros, the Uefa Euro 2008, Tour
de France, Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and
the US Open, the Eurosport channel will
offer more sports content produced in native
high definition, across the widest variety
of sports, than any other sports channel
in Europe.
Major
carriage deals for the simulcast service
in high definition of Eurosport's flagship
channel have already been signed in Scandinavia
and certain parts of Southern Europe. Further
roll-out across European markets is expected
to evolve rapidly with more contracts to
be announced over the coming weeks.
