Den selects NDS solutions for digital cable

MUMBAI: Digital Entertainment Networks (Den), jointly promoted by GBN joint MD Sameer Manchanda and Network18's Raghav Bahl, has selected News Corp's NDS digital broadcasting solutions to launch its digital cable service.


NDS will provide Den VideoGuard conditional access system (Cas), MediaHighway middleware and an advanced electronic programme guide (EPG).

Den will provide pay television features and services to Indian cable TV subscribers.


Den CEO Anuj Gandhi said, "In an effort to build world-class, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and to provide enriching viewing experiences to our customers, we have decided to choose NDS, the world's leading security and advanced TV solutions provider, to be our technology partner. We are confident that NDS, with its experience providing quality solutions for the digital pay TV business, will support us in our endeavour."


NDS VP and GM of Asia Pacific Sue Taylor said, "Den's decision to select a suite of NDS world leading solutions endorses NDS as the technology leader in digital pay-TV solutions. We look forward to partnering with Den and supporting their exciting growth strategies. NDS market-leading technology will enable Den to deliver world-class digital and interactive entertainment services to their subscribers."

NDS VideoGuard conditional access and DRM is used by 82.7 million active subscribers. Its middleware has been cumulatively deployed in 76.4 million devices.
