MUMBAI: Social networking community dedicated to motorsports fans Revvs.net has been launched in India.

Initially, Revvs.net has targeted three of the most popular racing series in the world - Formula 1, MotoGP and NASCAR - and slowly will expand to other racing series.

Based in Pune, Revvs.net has been started by Madhu Joshi, who himself has been following motor sport for the past 20 years.

Revvs.net comes at a time when India has its own Formula 1 team. With the inclusion of this Indian team in this west-dominated sport, Formula 1 has attained a special status and reflects the potentiality of bringing booming business in India.

Although motor racing may not be the first-choice sport for Indians, F1’s popularity is improving all the time. In the past five years, F1 has grown very popular on TV.

Having an Indian Formula 1 team, Formula 1 racing soon coming to India and a promising scenario of having Indian Formula 1 drivers are indications that Formula 1 will soon be a popular culture in India. Apart from Formula 1, even MotoGP is getting popular and America’s NASCAR is slowly catching up.

Revvs.net lets motorsports fans create their profile, connect with other fans, upload photos, create and join fanclubs, create blogs, watch and embed videos, set up discussion with other fans. It also introduces Fantasy Pick'em game for the motorsports fans.

This game requires participants to use their knowledge and skill to predict the correct finishing positions of racing drivers in a particular racing series. Fans earn points according to how accurately they predict the official finishing positions of the Racing drivers in a particular race.

Joshi says, “Fantasy Pick'em is an exciting and entertaining game and anyone who loves motorsports will definitely enjoy playing the game. We have a great team in place so motorsports fans can expect interesting features added regularly as the motorsports season moves.”
