MUMBAI: Amrita TV will air a new show called Classic Kathakal from 30 June. The show will air Monday to Friday at 7 pm.

Amrita TV has identified classic stories and novels from Indian literature with well-known directors, actors and rendered them into a serial format.

The first in the series is classic serial, 'Aranaazhika Neram', written by the Malayalam writer Parappuram. Filmed in rural settings, the 40-episode classic will feature noted Malayalam film actor Bharath Murali.

Aranaazhika Neram gives an insight into the emotional lives of a cross-section of the family members, who encounter difficult tensions resulting from people struggling with social morality and desire.
