MUMBAI: CBBC and BBC One will start airing Freefonix from this week. Freefonix is an animated cartoon series co-produced by Toonz Animation India.

A Toonz press release said the plot features three mismatched heroes who, in order to safeguard the most powerful force in the universe - the 13th Note - form a band called Freefonix. The 13th Note is an awesome force that can bend mind and space when the perfect sound is created.

"We are proud to be part of this incredible show which has a combination of classy storytelling, jazzy music and amazing animation," said Toonz Animation CEO P Jayakumar.

With a budget of more than $20 million, Freefonix is the largest commission by BBC for an animation series, reported IANS.

Toonz, which has become a major provider of animation to top American and European producers, boasts a client list that includes names like Marvel, Hallmark, Paramount, Disney, BBC and Cartoon Network.
