MUMBAI:
Firangi, the world TV channel from SaharaOne, has confirmed
the date of its launch as 25 February. The
channel will sport the tagline of World Ki Best Kahaniyan.
The
channel, which has acquired more than 2,000 hours of content
from across the world, will have its TG from 20-45 years in
SEC A and B in North and West parts of Inida.
Elaborating
further, Firangi business head Rajeev Chakrabarti said, "We
have signed on content providers in English as well as French
and German languages from America, Latin America, Germany,
Argentina, Israel, to name a few."
Firangi
has inked the deal with major content providers like Mexico-based
Tellewise, Germany-based Seven One and France-based Marathon.
Other providers include Telemundo, which is a US company,
that will offer content in Spanish.
The
channel has also tied up with Brazil-based Globosat for Pages
of Life and America.
Elaborating
further on the programming, Chakrabarti said, "None of
our shows will run for more than six to eight months. Moreover,
all the shows which we have acquired are not more than two
years old; some of them are still running in their local countries."
"We
will air dubbed shows in genres like daily comedy, action,
drama, horror during weekdays and movies on weekends,"
added Chakrabarti.
On
being queried about maintaining the original worth of the
dubbed content, Chakraborti said, "We have been extra
cautious while dubbing the content. A voice bank was created
to suit a personality of the character being dubbed. Apart
from the dubbing artists, we also roped in actors and actresses
to get the best of work."
All
the dubbing and postproduction has been done by Mumbai based
Clapstem Productions.
The
TVCs for the channel have already been rolled out on other
channels. The second phase will be hoardings in 25 major towns
in the North and West parts of India. The third phase of marketing
will kick off with radio ads on 10 February. The channel will
have its campaigns running on various radio stations. This
will gradually be followed by print ads when the launch date
approaches.
