MUMBAI: The popular social networking service MySpace is all set to launch its own developer platform on 5 February.

The company has also promoted its business development executive Amit Kapur to chief operating officer (COO).

As COO, Kapur will oversee the launch of the development platform, which, as per a MySpace press release, will support Google's Open Social initiative.

The platform will enable third-party developers to code applications for the service.
