MUMBAI:
Elisabeth Murdoch, CEO and Chairman of UK production company
Shine, is to give a keynote speech at the television trade
event MipTV in Cannes, France on 7 April 2008.
In
Creativity Without Borders, Murdoch, who chairs
the Shine Group of Companies, will set out why creativity
forms the foundation of her beliefs and is the catalyst to
success.
Murdoch
said, Im delighted to be asked to give a keynote
speech at MipTV. Encouraging creativity is central to the
Shine Groups expansion, both at home and internationally.
It is a precursor to commercial success for us all and has
the power to transcend all geographical and cultural borders.
Im looking forward to exploring how we as an industry
can create the right conditions for it to thrive.
Founded
by Murdoch in 2001, Shine has made shows like Sugar Rush,
Masterchef Goes Large, The Story of Light Entertainment
and the Greatest Britons Awards. At the end of 2006, Shine
became the Shine Group and the fourth largest producer in
the UK following the acquisitions of drama producer Kudos,
entertainment producer Princess Productions and factual programme
maker Firefly.
Before setting up Shine, Murdoch was BSkyB MD, where she was
responsible for the entire network's non-sport output and
the group's consumer marketing division.
