NEW DELHI: Top-level recruitments for the Triveni channels are on and former editor, Today (now Mail Today) Ravishankar has joined the group as managing editor, lifestyle, and will possibly work for the English news channel, sources say.

Among the other industry veterans roped in by Triveni are Alok Verma as managing editor, and Jaideep Goswami as HR head.

Both Goswami and Verma are ex-Aaj Tak top guns, and while Goswami ran the Hindi channel's HR department, Verma headed the Media Institute of Aaj Tak.

A lot of the Triveni top recruitments are from the Living Media Group, and includes Rahul Kulshreshta, who was the technical head at Aaj Tak and joined Triveni Media as CEO last year.

Earlier last week, Subramanian Iyer, national head (sales and marketing) of Raj TV was roped in as EVP, Triveni Media.

Ravishankar is known for his considerable expertise in lifestyle affairs and had devoted much of the middle section in Today on them. He later shifted to run Spice, the group's lifestyle magazine, on a full-time basis.

Triveni Media will launch two news channels, one in English and the other in Hindi, in March this year, followed by as many as eight regional news channels, sources say.

Over the next 30 months, Triveni plans to launch 19 channels.
