"Jetix represents action, adventure and entertainment
with all the positive values of teamwork and camaraderie.
We are happy to engage kids in outdoor activities
while ensuring that they understand the spirit and
values of Jetix' on-air programming," said Walt
Disney Television International (India) MD and SVP
Antoine Villeneuve.
The
tournament started with schools taking an introductory
lap. The participating schools soon teamed up to compete
in unconventional games such as 30-legged race, frog
relay, the Frisbee soccer, a traditional soccer game
played with a Jetix twist where a frisbee replaced
the football and the goal keeper guarded a mobile
goal post, etc.
Jetix
rewarded the winning school with a grant of Rs 100,000.
The channel will also organise an adventure camp for
all the winning teams. Indian Idol fame NC
Karunya was also there to encourage the teams with
his live performance.
In
addition, there were special prizes for the best cheerleading
team, team with best-painted faces, the loudest school
team, etc.
Jetix
is planning to take its Action League to Chennai and
Bangalore after this, according to an official release.
