MUMBAI:
Television format creator and distributor FremantleMedia Enterprises
(FME) has set up its own DVD label in Australia.
The
aim is to manage its home entertainment content in Australia
and New Zealand. Shows such as Neighbours, Satisfaction
and the Jamie Oliver franchise will be distributed via Destra
Vision throughout Australia.
The
label will be run by a local team who will work closely with
Destra Vision. Although all titles will now be released through
the new label, the company will still be looking to acquire
new content locally, globally and, of course, from FremantleMedia
Production Australia, specifically for this new venture.
FME
senior VP, home entertainment and archive Pete Kalhan says
that the deal is a great opportunity for FME to further grow
revenue from DVD sales.
Destra
Vision CEO Phil Maddison says, FME is one the of worlds
premier providers of filmed media. destra vision is thrilled
to be appointed FMEs distribution partner in this territory
and we look forward to a long and healthy relationship.
FME
CEO David Ellender says, "This is yet another example
of FMEs commitment to developing relationships at grass
roots level to ensure that we can continue to offer a fully
rounded service."
