According
to figures released by the Telecom Regulatory
Authority of India, there was a growth of
900,000 additions between April 1007 and
January 2008. In comparison, the growth
between April 2006 and January 2007 had
been 800,000.
The number of broadband users in March 2006
was 1.35 million, rising to an approximate
3.24 million in January 2008.
The report says that a total of 8.74 million
telephone connections had been added during
January 2008 as compared to 8.11 million
connections added in December 2007. The
total number of telephone connections reaches
281.62 million at the end of January 2008
as compared to 272.88 million in December
2007.
