MUMBAI:DHX Media Ltd, an international producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content, has signed a licensing agreement with Cartoon Network Germany, which has acquired all German TV rights to Chop Socky Chooks.

The series is a co-production by DHX Media's Decode Entertainment and UK-based Aardman Animations.

Currently in production for Cartoon Network (Worldwide) and Teletoon in Canada, Chop Socky Chooks is Decode and Aardman's second co-production following Planet Sketch, which has sold to major broadcasters worldwide.

The Chop Socky Chooks multi-territory agreement with Cartoon Network was concluded by Aardman and the commission from Teletoon was arranged by Decode Entertainment.

DHX Media chairman and CEO Michael Donovan said: "Here is another example of excellent kids programming with wide international appeal. Chop Socky Chooks demonstrates the synergies between our production and distribution divisions, as well as our growing portfolio of kids television shows with international and ancillary revenue potential."

Neil Court, president of DHX Media's distribution subsidiary, Decode Enterprises Ltd. said: "We are delighted that Cartoon Network in Germany has followed the other international Cartoon Network channels in committing to Chop Socky Chooks and has underlined its confidence in the series by licensing all TV rights for the territory. This is another deal in Germany for us, following our recent agreement with SuperRTL for The Latest Buzz."
