MUMBAI: Dish TV CEO Arun Kumar Kapoor has put in his papers, after serving in the organisation for 18 months.

Before joining Dish TV, Kapoor was in Hutchison Essar South Limited, where he was functioning as CEO for the Punjab Circle.

During Kapoor's tenure, Dish TV consolidated its position as the country’s largest DTH platform with over three million subscribers. Currently Dish TV has a market share of 59 per cent of DTH users in the country, a company statement said.

Dish TV board has given the nod to raise up to Rs 12 billion through rights issue. The company needs to invest Rs 16 billion over two years to fund its expansion plans. The DTH business will see new competition from Reliance ADAG, Bharti Airtel and Videocon.
