MUMBAI: ICTV is demonstrating the latest additions to their ActiveVideo programming lineup of web-infused television at the Pan-European cable trade show Cable Congress.

The three-day event, starting 23 April, is held in Madrid, Spain.

On their stand at Cable Congress '08, ICTV shows how programmers, including CNN, Fox, Home Shopping Network and Reuters, are delivering ActiveVideo channels that combine the latest web capabilities with television programming.

Using ActiveVideo, programmers are creating evolved television environments that invite viewer involvement by enabling them to engage with, immerse themselves in, and share programming, all using their standard remote controls.

ICTV is also showing how ActiveVideo is being used to provide interactive advertising and deliver brand experiences.

ICTV International MD Stephen Reeder said, "Content providers and cable system operators are seeking new ways to bring the same choice and control that is available on the web to their television viewers, without the need to deploy or integrate third party Web-to-TV devices and manage the issues those can present."

Further he added, "From our early deployment success in the United States and in Asia, we've seen significant consumer demand for ActiveVideo channels and navigational mosaics that seamlessly combine the best of the web with the television viewing experience, at the same time delivering considerable incremental profit for the content providers and operators alike."

With ActiveVideo, television viewers are given an interactive environment covering both linear and broadband programming which can include social networking, personal media and niche content all supported through targeted, actionable advertising.
