MUMBAI:
Indian heavyweight wrestler Khali, who has been dominating
the prime time of Hindi news channels for the last few months,
is visiting India.
Ten
Sports is bringing Khali to India on 7 May.
While
the wrestler will visit Delhi on 7 and 8 May, he will be in
Mumbai on 9 and 10 May.
In
Mumbai, Khali will will meet children from Doorstep School
and an NGO.
Speaking
of Khali's visit to Mumbai Ten Sports Taj Television India
GM Rukin Kizilbash said, "Khali the only Indian
in WWE - has made his mark not just in India but also globally.
Khali's visit to Mumbai will be a supercharged WWE visit -
full of action and excitement and sure to leave Mumbai shouting
for more."
The
sports channel owns the exclusive rights in the sub-continent
territories for the WWE.
For
the last couple of months, Khali's victories at WWE have been
fodder for many Hindi news channels. Stories like Khali
Ka Khatma, The Great Khali, Khali Ki Khalbali have pushed
the ratings of some of the Hindi news channels.
Khali
aka Dalip Singh is the only Indian to have made to the professional
wrestling at WWE. As the former World Heavyweight Champion,
he has ruled the SmackDown brand of WWE.
The
35-year-old wrestler is 7'2" and weighs over 200 kilos.
Khali
worked with Punjab Police before he went to the US in 1999
and joined the All Pro Wrestling School. He also won the Mr
India title in 1997 and 1998.
