MUMBAI:
Riding on the laughter riot, Sony Entertainment Television
has announced the second season of its stand up comedy show
Comedy Circus II.
The
show will start on 26 April and will air every Saturday at
10 pm.
On
being queried on the competition from similar shows Sony Entertainment
television EVP and business head Albert Almeida said, The
first season of Comedy Circus did very well for us in spite
of the fact that it was slotted against musical reality shows
on other channels. The grand finale delivered 2.7 and became
immensely popular. Therefore we are back with the second season.
This
time the show is inspired by the theme Bollywood. All the
paticipatants will perform their gags and acts based on this
theme. One of the highlights for the show is Shakeel, the
stand up comedian and also last years participant, who
will be seen in a new avatar of Shana Shakeel.
Like
the previous season, the show will have eight celebrities
paired up with eight popular comedians who will perform before
a live studio audience and millions of viewers across the
country for 20 weeks. Every week judges and audience vote
combined will nominate two jodis, one of whom will be voted
out by the remaining participants.
With
the same panel of judges, Satish Shah and Archana Puran Singh,
the show will be hosted by Shruti Sheth.
